Elevating Existing Designs into Profitable Solutions

The client wished to upscale their existing small-dimension box into a larger, more valuable packaging solution, giving it a fresh and appealing new look.

The product, a total of 6 parts, was loosely packed in the box shown above.

Initiating Brain storming for Innovative Box Design

Created a larger box with new dimensions for this airplane model to give it a more substantial and impressive appearance.

We prepared this box with flaps on both the left and right sides for specific reasons related to the further construction of the box.

Old Concept

To secure the airplane in place within the box, we used two plastic clips and two twist wires with plastic wrapping, along with a corrugated sheet of the same size as the box base.

This process involves manual labor to arrange and secure these items, making it a time-consuming task. Additionally, it incurs costs for the sheet, plastic clips, and twist wires.

 New Concept

We prepared two flaps—one for the front nose and one for the back tail. Given that the airplane has a larger area at the front and a thinner area at the back, we developed the middle oval area according to the circumference of the front nose to stop at a particular point. This ensures the folded area meets the requirement and touches the flap of the main box.

Additionally, we created two left and right holes for the thumb and finger to pull out the tray, and placed a small hole at the top of the main hole to help the labor understand the purpose of the holes. The single hole indicates it’s for the front, with a small hole at the top, and we repeated the same design for the back.

New Look with Cost Savings

This approach not only provides a completely new look and dimensions for the box but also achieves cost savings on materials previously used.

Case Study: Crafting a Precision Branding Wrap for Curved Remote Controls

Project Overview: We enhanced the brand visibility for a uniquely curved remote control car by designing a branding wrap that fit seamlessly, maintained functionality, and ensured a secure grip.

Challenges and Solutions:

Design and Prototyping: The curved shape of the remote presented a significant design challenge. Our team began by sketching initial concepts and creating multiple prototypes. After numerous trials, we developed a unique pattern that adhered smoothly to the remote without affecting its functionality. The key feature was a left-side pasted flap, prepared by the vendor, allowing staff to easily slip the wrap onto the remote.

Precise Fit and Secure Grip: We refined the design to ensure a precise fit. The final wrap provided a snug grip, keeping the remote securely covered during use. This innovative solution not only showcased the brand effectively, but also enhanced the user experience. After a series of attempts, we achieved a design that met all criteria: visual appeal, functionality, and ease of application.

Conclusion: By tackling the challenges of working with a curved remote and ensuring a precise, secure fit, we successfully enhanced the brand’s visibility and user experience. Our client now enjoys increased brand recognition every time their remote control car is used, due to the creative solutions we provided.
